Rules & Regulation
- Pupils must wear their school uniforms to school every day. It must be neat, clean, and tidy. Their uniforms and way of dressing themselves must conform to the standards set by the school authorities.
- Pupils must be punctual and regular in their Attendance Register and Diary. However, action will be taken for repeated late attendance.
- Irregular attendance, habitual negligence in studies, disobedience or the defiance of the authority of the teachers and telling lies are not allowed. Any action that goes against the good order of the school, any conduct injurious to the moral tone of the school even outside the school premises are not tolerated. Offenders will be punished.
- A pupil should not form unhygienic habits such as spitting on the floor or the walls of a room or a verandah. A commission of any such act is considered an offence and, as such is punishable.
- Any damage done to the school building or furniture shall be made good by the pupils concerned. The Headmaster’s decision regarding compensation to be paid shall be final.
- No pupil shall be exempted from physical exercise without a Medical Certificate.
- Pupils are responsible for the safe custody of the books, umbrellas, raincoat and other possessions.
- Pupils should possess a School Calendar which should be brought to school daily.
- Pupils are liable to this dismissed/suspended/expelled from the school or otherwise severely dealt with on the following grounds.
- Possession or consumption of alcohol within and outside the school premises in school uniform.
- Smoking, Chewing betelnut, tobacco or ingesting any illegal substances.
- Stealing, quarrelling, indulging in violence, displaying rowdy or unruly behaviour.
- Showing indifference to warning for repeated violation of rules.
- Disgracing the school through wrongful conduct.
- Carrying mobile phones/iPod or any electronic gadgets inside the school premises.
- Carrying books, pictures, CDs outside the curriculum.
- Pupils must not bring any valuable items to school. If found, the school may confiscate them.
- The school shall not be liable for the loss of any such valuables.
ATTENDANCE AND LEAVE OF ABSENCE
- Pupils must endeavour to secure an average attendance of at least 90% of the total number of working days in a year.
- Pupils must not be allowed to absent themselves from school without good reason which letter will be determined by the Headmistress.
- Pupils who have been absent from school must have the reason for their being absent entered by the parents/guardians in the prescribed ‘Leave Record’ in the calendar and submit the same to the Headmistress immediately on the day of attending School. The long absence of more than six consecutive days must invariable be accompanied by a Medical Certificate.
- Parents/Guardians of the pupils who have been absent for more than six consecutive days must inform the Headmistress and state the reasons for the absence in writing on the seventh day.
- A pupil shall not be allowed to attend the class unless his/her absence has been condoned by the Headmistress.
- No pupil shall be exempted from physical exercise without a Medical Certificate.
- Staying away from class during school hours is not tolerated. If a pupil has to go home during school hours, there must a written application from the parents/guardians stating the reason which must a serious one. In all such cases, the permission of the Principal is a serious breach of discipline.
- Pupils must rejoin the School after holidays on the reopening day. If prevented to do so by illness or unforeseen events, the letter from the parents or guardians to the effect must be sent immediately to the Principal. Failure to do this is considered a grave offence and is punishable with a heavy fine. Moreover, such a pupil is liable to forfeit his/her seat.
LIBRARY
- Only one book can be issued to a pupil at any time and it must be returned within a fortnight from the date of issue.
- The lending of school library books amongst pupils from one to another is strictly prohibited.
- Pupils are strictly prohibited from scribbling on any library book. Any damage or loss must be made good to the satisfaction of the librarian as approved by the Principal.
- Any damage or disorder found in the book at the time of issue must be brought to the notice of the teacher-in-charge of the library by the pupil who will borrow it.
- All library books must be returned at least a week before the commencement of vacation or annual or other stocktaking during which period there will be no issue of books.
